Sponsoring or hosting events that will benefit the local food bank or Habitat for Humanity will tell the community that you don’t just help out those who pay your bills.  You’ll be convincing the wealthier members of your area that you’re willing to reinvest in your neighbors, while also showing lower income future clients that you are a funeral home that cares.

And since every person in your community will attend at least one funeral (their own), you’ve got a lot of future clients to impress.  Lower income members of your community still strive to provide a “decent” funeral for their loved one and want to spend their hard-earned money with a funeral home that they believe shares their values.  If you invest in their welfare by promoting programs that help them find jobs or affordable housing, you are guaranteeing that they will be able to afford one of your funerals later.
