Teenagers are fascinated by death, as they are of most things their parents are afraid to talk about.

By hosting local high school students, you’ll be giving them time away from school (for which they’ll love you!) while answering the questions they don’t think they can ask their parents.

Of course, you won’t expose them to any of the clients you are currently serving, as that would be inappropriate, but you will be able to educate them on the importance of things like embalming, outer burial containers, funeral services.

If funeral directors are to turn the tide of direct cremation, it’s going to take education of the public.

Besides, in ten or twenty years, these youngsters will be making the important funeral decisions for their own parents and grandparents and this is a great opportunity to reach them while they’re interested in what you have to say.
